Entry into the Primary School
All applications to the Primary school will be approved by the Director of Admissions, the Head of Primary School and the Headmaster.
Sit in (Pre-K to Y1)
The youngest learners (from Pre-K to Year 1) enter into classes within the Early Years section of the Primary School based on their age. During the application process, a mutually agreed appointment will be arranged for prospective pupils to spend 45 minutes to an hour with a teacher in a class. t This meeting is referred to as a ‘sit in’. During this time, the child will be able to become familiar with other children in the class and will begin to make friends and learn all about what happens in an Early Years classroom at RGS Vietnam.
Entrance Assessment (Years 2 to 6)
After reviewing the pupil’s’s information and academic profile, RGS Vietnam will require all applications from Year 2 to Year 6 to sit an entrance assessment. The assessment will cover both numeracy and language evaluation components and will be conducted by a member of the RGS Vietnam academic team.
The aim of the assessment is to determine your child’s strengths and talents, as well as ensuring their capacity to access the RGS Vietnam curriculum at level of the year that they will be placed in. These assessments will last approximately 60 minutes.
