Year 6 Camp to Ba Vi (30th November - 2nd December 2022)
Year 6 travelled to their camp on 30th November at Ba Vi. They enjoyed their bus ride, a tour of the Long Viet Ecotourism site they are staying at and a fantastic Vietnamese style lunch. The pouring rain refused to dampen their spirits as they made rice parcels to cook, did a quiz about tea and then went and picked tea leaves in the rain! The children are looking forward to playing games later and are hoping the rain clears so that they can go stargazing tonight.
On Day 2 of the Year 6 Camp! Existing friendships have been strengthened, new friendships formed and long-lasting memories made. The children travelled to Ba Vi National Park to learn about how to use a compass, hiked through the forest and got rather wet (again!). This afternoon they have enjoyed the putting up tents and participating in various team games as well as playing with the resident kittens. Tonight they’ll enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dance and participate in the RGSV Ba Vi Talent Show.
The third day is our final day at camp! On the previous night we enjoyed a traditional Vietnamese performance and got to try out some of the gongs and dance with the poles. This was followed up with some simply amazing performances at our talent contest. This morning the children have been out orienteering their way around the site using their newfound compass skills from yesterday. The children have had a great time, made a lot of memories and strengthened friendships both new and old.
