Ye Seul CHEON Selected as Violinist of Vietnam Youth Orchestra
Ye Seul CHEON from Grade 5B (Year 6B), also known as Clara, has been selected as one of the talented violinists of the Vietnam Youth Orchestra (VYO). This is a step closer to her dream of becoming a full member of the Orchestra.
Clara has been playing the violin since she was 6 years old and has gained many admirable achievements. She earned 2nd place in 2020 and 3rd place in 2021 at the Korean Mozart Music Competition, and also achieved a DISTINCTION from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) grade 5 Violin. Clara has played in Hanoi Youth Orchestra in the Korean Community for 2 years and over this time, she used her talents to connect with community service to raise awareness for an orphanage in December 2020. She has a tremendous passion for music and violin, and she works hard every day to pursue her dream.
Clara shared: “All the harmonies and ensemble from the orchestra makes me so happy, and playing the 1st violin in the VYO makes me more ambitious and offers the challenges I need.” She also shared that in VYO, they are playing currently "blauen Donau", Op. 314 (German for "By the Beautiful Blue Danube"), a waltz by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II and L'Arlésienne Suite No. 1 by Georges Bizet for the Concert in Hanoi Opera House on September.
We congratulate Clara on such an impressive accomplishment and we cannot wait to see how far she will grow with the VYO!
