University Counseling, October 2nd, 2020
On 2nd October, students of Grade 11 had the chance to experience a new form of University Counseling due to the on-going situation of Covid-19. The University Counseling fair this year adopted the online counseling method, which lets students use their personal devices to attend the counseling sessions.
Although there was a learning curve to use the new method, our students familiarise themselves with it quickly, as they have received instructions through several channels (Managebac, MaiaLearning and E-mail).
The students attending the session were able to get their inquiries regarding universities answered, talk with different representatives from many universities, and fill in the Scavenger Hunt. Specifically, students learned how to apply for a scholarship or pay for the course, the benefit of different types of college, and ways to make their profiles more competent.
The counseling session was carried out successfully, which provided Grade 11 students with essential information, as their journey to pursue higher education has just begun. Moreover, although each student could only take part in one session and topic at a time, they shared the information that they have with each other, hence, giving them a more diverse point of view for their university of choice in the future.
