Nguyen Nam and his Cello on the Journey from passion to Orchestra
Nguyen Nam, a Year 10 student at RGS Vietnam, has recently excelled in the audition round to become a member of the Vietnam Youth Orchestra (VYO).
Fueled by a deep-seated love for music, Nam embarked on his cello journey at RGS Vietnam. Under the guidance of dedicated teachers, his passion blossomed alongside his skills, nurtured through systematic music lessons and enriched by the vibrant school' RGSV's Starling Orchestra.
Three years of rigorous cello practice intertwined with enriching experiences in the vibrant Starling Orchestra honed Nam's skills. He not only refined his musicality but also developed the professionalism and teamwork crucial for symphonic performance. This growth culminated in a triumphant audition for the prestigious Vietnam Youth Orchestra (VYO).
Facing stiff competition, including students from Hanoi's renowned music schools, Nam shone. His nuanced interpretation of the challenging audition piece captivated the judges, while his seamless collaboration with other musicians showcased his exceptional musicality and collaborative spirit. It's no surprise, then, that Nam earned a coveted spot among the 70 talented young individuals who will represent VYO in upcoming concerts and tours.
