Mrs Helen Silcock - new Teacher of Secondary Science
Following on from recent announcements of staff who will be bringing the RGS UK DNA to RGS Vietnam, we are very excited to announce the appointment of Helen Silcock, as Teacher of Secondary Science for the next academic year. Helen is a passionate scientist and educator who, whilst studying for her BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management at Manchester Metropolitan University spent a year at the University of Lapland, where she completed a Diploma in Arctic Studies. Helen went on to study for an MRes in Ecology and Environmental Management at The University of York and, as she had always been passionate about working with children, she stayed on at the University of York to complete her PGCE, specialising in Secondary Science.
With a love of life-long learning, Helen continued her studies alongside her Head of Science roles, obtaining an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management from Manchester. She is no stranger to teaching in high quality British international schools, having spent a number of years working in both Germany and the Middle East. Helen is absolutely thrilled to have been appointed to the role of Teacher of Science at Reigate Grammar School Vietnam and her extensive experience of teaching Science across the Prep and Secondary School years will ensure that RGS Vietnam students continue to develop their love of and passion for Science.
