ISV to become the 1st ever school in Vietnam with UK brand and trademark
On September 15th, 2021, the International School of Vietnam signed an international collaboration agreement with Reigate Grammar School, UK (RGS International) at an official ceremony kindly hosted by the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK, Nguyen Hoang Long and First Secretary, Huong Ly Tran. They were also joined via video link with their new educational partners from RGS International and the British Consul General to Vietnam, Emily Hamblin.
The International School of Vietnam (ISV) has become one of the leading international schools in Hanoi, licensed to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge programmes to Vietnamese and foreign students. The partnership with RGS International, a top co-educational independent school in the UK with a rich history of nearly 350 years, opens a new chapter in the development process of ISV. This agreement is seen as an important strategy of the school in cooperating and promoting education, in order to maintain and improve the teaching quality, manage and expand international teaching models, thereby facilitating the exchange of students and teachers between two educational institutions.
At the signing ceremony, Reigate Grammar School (RGS International) handed ISV the license to use the RGS International brand, marking the beginning of a UK standard school located in Vietnam. Under the terms of the agreement, ISV will be renamed as Reigate Grammar School Vietnam.
Mr. Sean Davey, the RGS International’s Managing Director said, ‘This is a great opportunity for us, and a privilege to be able to take our school brand and the outstanding education RGS provides to a vibrant part of Asia. We have built a strong bond with our partners at ISV and we are all very excited about this collaboration and the promotion of British education and international education. So many life-changing opportunities will be created for pupils and staff’
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Mai Bich Thuy, Founder and Chairman of ISV said, “I am strongly convinced that our new Reigate Grammar School Vietnam will be a great success because it has the vigor of a 9 year-young ISV and huge experience of a 346 year-old Reigate Grammar School plus all the Vietnamese, British and international best practices that both sides have accumulated in the process. I am also strongly convinced that this new school will make a worthy contribution to the educational and cultural ties between the two countries, thus contributing to the fine ongoing strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.”
The ISV’s leadership team is proud of what the school has achieved in recent years and believe that the collaboration between the two schools (in Vietnam and the UK) will open a new chapter in the educational development, the stability and solidity of ISV that will contribute to the quality improvement of international education in Hanoi.
This collaboration not only opens a new chapter in the history of ISV but also marks a special milestone for UK-Vietnam education partnership, celebrating the 1st ever school with UK brand and trademark in Vietnam.
