Grade 9 (Year 10) Trip To Cat Ba
With the G9 school camp we went to Cat Ba. Cat Ba is a natural protected area that includes many little islets forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. During the trip we had many team adventures that were challenging and exciting.
On the first day we enjoyed kayaking and played collaborative games on the kayak. Many students fell on the water. It was great fun. The next morning we did a beach cleanup. Even if the beach looked clean, we managed to fill several bags with rubbish. Through this activity we learned about the consequences of our waste disposal. After that, we sailed to the Ben Beo harbour and from there we cycled all together to the Viet Hai village. The view of that journey was astonishing. In the afternoon we hiked to the Navy’s peak. The hike was tougher than expected, but we all reached the peak.
On the final day we did rock climbing on a hidden bay. It was challenging but the instructors guided us very well. During the evenings students would get together and play card games such as UNO or Werewolf. These moments were great for students to interact with their peers from other classes who they do not normally meet. This school camp was an amazing learning experience that we’ll never forget.
