Extension Support Programme (ESP)
ISV are excited to announce the launch of the new ‘year-long’ Extension Support Programme (ESP) for Grade 4 and Grade 5 aged students starting in August 2019. Open to both ISV and non-ISV students, the programme designed and taught by ISV staff will be a thorough and professional supplementary course that will benefit students on their English learning paths. The programme was created after a need was identified by the local community for a language enrichment programme to help extend language and literacy skills during the transitional period from elementary to secondary.
Programme Overview: The programme is designed to further enrich academic learning and develop student-readiness for the challenges of a secondary programme at international standards. The programme will run throughout the year with fully qualified ISV faculty members. Classes will take place at ISV on certain Saturdays for 30 weeks over the scholastic calendar, and run along-side ISV Saturday Soccer Development Squad (SSDS). Classes will run for 2 hours per session and students will be expected to complete set homework activities throughout the week as part of the programme design. The first cohort will be taught by ISV Head of Elementary - Ms. Patricia Mcloughlin and ESP Programme Co-ordinator Martyn Sessford.
There will be one (1) class per programme level only, with a maximum number of 15 students accepted into each class. All non ISV students will be required to sit an entrance test to assess their suitability for the programme.
Who Is This Programme For?
This programme is for all students in Grade 4 and Grade 5 as of 2019/20 school year that wish to supplement their English language learning in order to be better prepared for the future academic challenges.
Procedure and Timeframe:
Tuesday 6th August - Friday 16th August - INQUIRY & REGISTRATION
Friday 16th August - 11:00 - 12:00 - Parent's Talk - Presentation on the Programme by Ms. Patricia and Mr. Martyn
Saturday 17th August - 10:00 - 13:00 - Entrance Tests for Non-ISV students held at ISV.
Monday 19th - Results
Tuesday 20th - Thursday 22nd - Course payment
Saturday 24th - First Class of year-long programme starts at 10am
Costs:
Non-ISV Students - 1 year programme - $2,000
ISV Students - 1 year programme - $1,500
