Book Week 2025
RGSV's library department recently hosted a vibrant and engaging Book Week from Monday, 6th March to Friday, 10th March 2025. The week was a resounding success, fostering a love of reading and storytelling across all year groups.
The entire school participated in daily "Stop, Drop, and Read" sessions, prompted by intercom announcements with Prep student council members, creating a shared moment of literary immersion. Students also showcased their creativity in a bookmark design contest and explored a wide array of titles at the Fahasa Book Fair. Daily book and story trivia challenged minds and sparked lively discussions.
The Prep Section enjoyed a variety of tailored events, beginning with a delightful shared story time led by Mr. Brendan. The Prep Hub became a hub of literary exchange during the book swap, and the school community rallied to send off the Battle of the Books UNIS Competition team with enthusiastic support. Early Years students were captivated by Mother Tongue Storytime sessions, celebrating diverse languages and cultures. The week culminated in a spectacular Story Character Costume Party, which was live-streamed to parents, allowing them to join in the fun and witness the students' imaginative transformations.
Secondary students engaged in a challenging Key Stage 3 Library Scavenger Hunt, testing their knowledge and navigation skills. The Upper Foyer was transformed into a gallery for the Book Review Exhibition, showcasing students' critical thinking and literary insights. A highlight of the week was the visit from guest speaker, publisher, and poet Ms. Thuy Anh, who shared her experiences and inspired aspiring writers.
This year's Book Week successfully celebrated the power of stories and the joy of reading, leaving a lasting impact on the entire school community.
