A Magical Way To Mark The Start Of The School Year
Today (4th September 2024), Reigate Grammar School Vietnam marked the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year with a vibrant celebration of Vietnamese School Opening Day. As the first independent international school in Vietnam with a UK school brand, the school is committed to preserving local cultural heritage while embracing international educational standards.
The assembly featured an inspiring speech from Mr. Patrick Glennon, the school Headmaster. During his speech, Mr. Patrick not only praised the cultural significance of the day but also highlighted the academic milestones and events planned for the new academic year. Among the most anticipated activities in the first semester are the visit of the Headmaster of Reigate Grammar School UK, Mr. Shaun Fenton, to RGSV and the COBIS competitions, where our students will compete with schools from around the world, challenge themselves, collaborate with peers, and represent RGS Vietnam on an international stage.
Following Mr. Patrick's speech, a vibrant lion dance was performed. The lion dance is a traditional Vietnamese cultural performance that symbolizes good luck and prosperity. The performance not only entertained students but also introduced them to a significant aspect of Vietnamese cultural identity.
We wish all RGSV students and teachers a successful and promising year. May you be filled with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a determination to learn. Let's make this year a memorable one, filled with growth, achievement, and joy, as we strive to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment for all our students.
