A Look Back At RGSV Book Week 2026: Celebrating Stories Without Borders
From 16th-20th March 2026, the RGSV Library brought together the school community for Book Week, centred on the theme "Stories Without Borders".The programme offered students across all year groups a rich and varied experience, designed to cultivate a lifelong appreciation for reading while exploring storytelling from a global perspective.
A particular highlight was a visit from guest author Võ Thị Xuân Hà, who led an engaging session with our secondary students. Her visit provided valuable insight into contemporary Vietnamese literature and the writing process, while encouraging thoughtful discussion and intellectual curiosity.
In Early Years, students participated in a mother tongue story time, where families and teachers shared stories in a range of languages. This reflected the school’s commitment to celebrating cultural identity and fostering an inclusive, internationally minded community.
Students also took part in Story Time with Mr Brendan, which brought a sense of energy and engagement to shared reading, particularly among our Prep learners.
The week concluded with the Story Character Costume Parade & Party, where students and staff brought literary characters to life. This event captured the creativity and confidence that accompany student life at RGSV.
Alongside these highlights, a series of competitions and activities enriched the programme.Daily Story Trivia encouraged students to extend their literary knowledge, while the Bookmark Design and Door Decorating competitions provided opportunities for creative expression, contributing to a vibrant and stimulating learning environment.
RGSV Book Week 2026 exemplified the school’s commitment to academic enrichment, creativity, and community engagement. The Library Department extends its sincere thanks to all students, staff, and families who contributed to the success of the week.
Through initiatives such as Book Week, RGSV continues to provide a well-rounded education that nurtures curiosity, celebrates diversity, and prepares students to engage confidently with the world beyond the classroom
