Tokai β Conquering HSK level 6 at age 10
We are delighted to share the remarkable achievement of our student, Tokai TOMONARI (Year 7), who has recently passed the HSK Level 6 exam - the highest level of the official Mandarin Chinese Proficiency Test at the age of just 10 years.
To put this into perspective, HSK Level 6 requires mastery of over 5,000 Chinese words, the ability to comprehend complex written and spoken texts, and the fluency to express oneself with precision in both speech and writing. This level is internationally recognized as the language proficiency required for admission into Masterβs and PhD programs in China. Achieving it at such a young age places Tokai among the youngest in history to ever reach this milestone.
Tokai had already passed the HSKK Advanced oral proficiency test at the age of 9, a benchmark equivalent to native fluency. Beyond his outstanding linguistic abilities, Tokai is passionate about coding (currently learning Python to write his own AI programs), holds a black belt in Taekwondo, and has contributed actively to school life as a student council representative and a performer in the talent show.
We are proud of Tokaiβs hard work, resilience, and curiosity, which embody the spirit of holistic learning at RGSV. His achievement is an inspiration to our community, reminding us all of the limitless possibilities when talent meets perseverance.
